PAL-Care is a volunteer group established in November
2002, responding to a need for more volunteers to
provide support to patients and families referred to
the Supportive, Palliative and Hospice Care Program of
the Department of Family and Community Medicine of
UP-Philippine General Hospital (PGH).  PAL-Care
responds and addresses the plight of patients and
families referred to the Supportive, Palliative and
Hospice Care Program of the Department of Family and
Community Medicine of UP-PGH by:
    
•   Increasing the quality of patients’ lives through
emotional support, companionship, bedside care, and
pain medications 
•   Meeting special needs of patients and families
confronted with chronic, progressive, life threatening
and terminal illness
•   Providing education and skills development to
hospital staff, volunteers and patient primary
caregivers through formal lectures and workshops 

Your Compassionate Nature is a beautiful
photographic journal of one of the most giving,
intelligent and talented people I have had the
pleasure of knowing, Dr. Elizabeth Garcia-Gray. 
Her efforts to embrace humanity via her generous
nature are truly inspiring.  I sporadically view her
book to revitalize my own spirit and to remind me
of the love that is ever-present in the kind souls of
individuals like Liz. The images engage you and
